L'équipe en charge du développement de RetroArch, la team LibRetro, nous offre en cette fin Juillet 2021, une toute nouvelle version de leur émulateur multi-plate forme.
La version 1.9.7 du frontend RetroArch ajoute pas mal de nouveautés comme les identifiants uniques sur 3DS, la correction de nombreux bugs liés à OpenGL, sur PlayStation 2 et sur Wii U.
Sur PlayStation 2, le pilote ps2_font correct a été implémenté et remplace l'ancien pilote de police gskit, tandis que BDM est désormais utilisé pour augmenter sa stabilité sur USB. Sur Wii U ce sont des optimisations de vitesse de réseau et de système de fichiers qui sont au programme.
